We are a husband and wife team who enjoy spending our time with each other, no matter what new adventure we may find. We live in a quaint little town in Florida called Brooksville and while remodeling our home, we discovered that we also share an incredible passion for all things vintage, rustic, cowhide, wood and hand crafted so, it just made sense for us to share our ideas and creations with you through this crazy new business venture! We are hoping you will love and enjoy our products and our creations as much as we enjoy creating them for you.
Our Stories
Myself (Becky) – I have a wonderful son who has grown into such an incredible young man. I am truly blessed to have him in my life. My story began in Central Illinois where I was born and raised with nothing but dairy farms, corn and bean fields as far as the eye could see. Although I loved my small town, midwest upbringing, the winters proved to be too cold. So, almost 20 years ago, when my son was just 5 months old, we moved to Florida and never looked back. I have been drawing, painting and creating for as long as I can remember. Fun fact: I even won a contest in high school in a trucker’s magazine (that my truckdriver dad subscribed to) for a mural I painted on our garage during the Gulf War, meant to represent our family’s support for the troops, my brother, who was a Marine at the time, being one of them.
Troy was born and raised in the great state of Florida and is very proud of his southern heritage. His creativity and talent led him to starting and running his own successful custom cabinet shop for years. Although he is a pipe fitter/welder by trade (which is a talent of its own), the cabinet shop is where he honed in on his incredibly talented woodworking skills. Troy took extreme pride in each cabinet he built and he continues to carry that pride in each piece he creates today.
Our Name and Purpose
We believe the name Southern Cow and Craft whole heartedly represents us, combining both Troy’s southern roots and my midwest upbringing. With a western flair, and with our love of all things vintage and cowhide, we enjoy hand-crafting unique and rustic pieces all the way from foot stools and benches, to signs and door hangers to individual one-of-a-kind pieces. We offer tee shirts, hoodies and and other apparel that are printed in house and can be personalized upon request. We have also partnered with some of our favorite brands to offer a variety of merchandise for our customers. You may even find some vintage items inspired by our own nostalgia. Happy Shopping!
